Lichi badlands, Taitung, Taiwan. The Lichi Melange exhibits a typical badland topography along the western foot of the southern Coastal Range. When the Taiwan orogeny occurred since Pliocene, Luzon Arc in the Philippine Sea Plate has collided with the Asian continent and Lichi Melange over thrust along the southern Longitudinal Valley Fault.
